Privacy Policy
DLES.gg is a small, independent project run by one person. I try to collect as little data as possible, and I never sell it. This page explains, in plain language, what gets stored and why.
No account required
You don't need to register or log in to use DLES.gg. There are no passwords and no user profiles.
What's stored in your browser
To remember your favourites, ratings, played games and your daily ritual without an account, the site stores some data locally in your browser (via localStorage), including:
- An anonymous, randomly generated ID (a "voter ID") so your ratings and favourites can be counted without identifying you.
- Your list of favourite games, ratings, played games and ritual.
- A flag remembering that you've dismissed the cookie notice.
This data stays on your device. Clearing your browser storage will reset it.
What's stored on the server
When you favourite, rate, play or report a game, that action is sent to the database (hosted on Supabase) and associated with your anonymous voter ID — not with your name or email. This is what powers the aggregate top-rated and most-popular lists.
Game submissions
If you submit a game, you may optionally provide your email address. I use it only to follow up about your submission (for example, to let you know it's been listed, or to ask a question). I don't add you to any mailing list.
Analytics
To understand how the site is used, DLES.gg uses the following third-party analytics services:
- Simple Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics.
- DataFast — privacy-friendly product analytics.
- Google Analytics — aggregate traffic measurement, which may set cookies.
These tools collect aggregate, non-identifying information such as page views, referring sites, approximate location (country/region) and device/browser type. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Donations
If you choose to support the site through Buy Me a Coffee, the payment is handled entirely by them. DLES.gg never sees or stores your payment details. Their handling of your data is covered by Buy Me a Coffee's privacy policy.
Your choices
You can clear locally stored data at any time through your browser settings, use the opt-out linked above, or email me to request that I delete any submission email you've sent.
