How to play

Climb from a start word to a target word one rung at a time, each rung a transformation of the word above it. Steps go well past swapping a single letter, taking in anagrams, added letters and wordplay on the word itself. Every rung has a clue, but the clues are listed out of order, so matching each to its step is part of the puzzle. You can also work upwards from the bottom.
